Funky?

Funky

We wonder if the manufacturer is aware that, when used to describe food, the word rarely holds positive connotations.

Nice! My coworkers must think I lost it after I burst out laughing at your pic. By the way, have you visited Shanghai's Puxi district?

LOL that is too funny :)
Read your postings on your last trip to KK (which is where I am at the mo).
If you're heading back this way anytime soon, there are a couple more places I'd happily suggest for you to try.

neckbone - we used to live in Shanghai; Dave's office was in Puxi. But I'm curious -what's the Puxi-'funky' connection? (or is there any?)

Shan - we will take you up on that! We'd really like to sample Kazandusun fare that's *not* served at a tourist-oriented buffet.

I think the makers meant funky as unconventional or cool (ie turn that funky music, white boy) rather than funky as funky smell. hehehehehehe

I miss this snacks from back home.

Sorry - this is off subject, but this is a link to a petition to save Central Street Market in Hong Kong. As a fan of the street market, I thought you might be interested and perhaps link to this petition on your website. http://www.savethestreetmarket.com/

You can take a girl out of America, but you can't take America out of the girl! Nora beat me to it, obviously - 'funky' with negative connotations is tres American.
