PISTANG CAPAMPANGAN AT THE SALCEDO MARKET
The Salcedo Market will host a Pampango festival of regional delicacies and local crafts on June 21 as part of the market's commitment to showcase the best of Philippine food culture. As part of its fourth anniversary celebrations, the Salcedo Community Market has also invited the critically-acclaimed Arti Sta Rita to provide entertainment during the event, which will be held at the Jaime Velasquez Park during market hours from 7am to 3pm.
Look for genuine Pampango cooks doing what they do best, and the food specialties that have made the region famous for its cuisine. There will also be cooking demonstrations of heirloom recipes from the province's oldest families. In addition, there will be an on-site demonstration of how the world-famous San Fernando parols are made by local craftsmen brought in especially for the occasion.

Wish we could be there. If you will be, have some halo-halo, bringhe, and plantanillas for us.

Hi Robyn,
Thanks for putting up the post. Wish you could be here. You will find the vendors - both home-based and commercially available - very exciting: Everybody's Café, Cabalen, Bakeline, Trellis, Razon's and Abe's. Pampango cooks include Des Rodriguez Torres, Mitchie Hizon and Tess Guanzon.
Also coming are Sasmuan Delicacies, Michelle's Banana Chips, Aiza's Sweets, Navarro's Taba ng Talangka, Lailen's Pastries, Wow Mani, Emy's Sweets, Pines Brownies, Kuliat Empanada and Pulburon, Pabalan's Pastillas and Carreon's Plantanillas.
Our old friend Lillian Borromeo will demonstrate her peerless San Nicolas cookies and Dulce Prenda. Other veteran cooks include Seng Lazatin and Dely Panililio to demonstrate the traditional Pampanga pork dinuguan called "tidtad bigac" while Pette Jarolan of Everybody's Café will share some of her family's famous dishes.
And the Center for Kapampangan Studies of Holy Angel University in Angeles will be selling some of their books on Pampanga, and we will even have Willy Layug who has become famous for his intricately carved altar pieces (retablos).
Sure you can't make it here???
Best ,
Marc
