That's what I might have heard shouted around me, if at midnight I'd been out and about KL, instead of in bed at home, asleep.
Today's Merdeka Day, Malaysia's birthday. This year is number 49, which means the celebration next year should be a doozy.
How do Malaysians celebrate their nation's birth? Silly question - they celebrate it the same way they celebrate just about everything else ... with food!
Selamat Hari Merdeka!
Happy Merdeka!

Hey Robyn,
Just celebrated Labor Day Weekend here with a BBQ, Malaysian style. Made some Malay Satays (just posted the entry on my blog) and my version of Jalan Alor Wong Ah Wah's Chicken Wings.
You are right about how we Malaysians celebrate...with food...be it a Malaysian holiday or American holiday... ;)

Jaz, thanks for the article. We will be sticking with film for the forseeable future -- digital cams that produce film-like images are a bit out of our price range!
yr welcome babe in kl.
Bee - Malaysians do celebrate everything with food. Just one more reason to love the place! :-)
